HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ATTENDED THE OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION OF “THE DALI OF RIGA”

 

On Saturday 12 September, Riga Congress Centre  opened its doors to the memorial exhibition of Alexander Bobkin, the Dali of Riga. This noteworthy collection of surrealist paintings will be available every working day from 10:00 to 18:00 until October 3,2015. Admission free.

Don’t let the opportunity to admire Alexander’s art pass you by!

  The exhibition’s organizers expect that this event will show the people of Latvia and other countries masterpieces of a unique artist  born in Tallinn who worked in Riga.  We often admire and worship foreign artists and forget that nearby can live  authentic and extraordinary artists.

The uniqueness and beauty of Alexander’s works is appreciated in countries such as Australia, Russia, Estonia, Lithuania and Spain. Many of his paintings already hang on the walls of art collectors worldwide, and since Saturday, they win the heart of every attendant of this exhibition.event

Roughly estimated, the inauguration ceremony was attended by nearly 400 people.  During the first hours, guests collected 1044 little copies of the paintings designed as Polaroid photos.  In the words of the exposition’s guests, many will come back to Riga Congress Centre accompanied this time by relatives and friends to admire the paintings together.

At the beginning of the event, the presenters talked about Alexander’s life and art. The beginning was marked by the touching speech of Alexander’s mother.

The guests enjoyed snacks and the vibes of live jazz and electro-acoustic music. Besides, they all had the opportunity to participate in the event –  a local artist prepared a sketch of one of Alexander’s works called “Two bouquets” displaying the silhouette of a nude woman and people could finish the painting using brushes and paint.

The exhibition became the ideal place for every art lover which brought tears of joy and touched the heart of every guest.

The exhibition will be opened until Saturday, October 3. Everyone who did not manage to attend the opening of the exhibition or wants to enjoy the art of Alexander Bobkin-B’’iell, can visit Riga Congress Center during the working hours previously specified.
